Schneider Electric Introduces Emergency Lighting Control Panelboards

The first all-in-one circuit breaker panelboard with onboard automatic load control relays in a centralized solution for emergency lighting, offering enhanced control, improved savings, and streamlined operations.

PALATINE, IIl. – Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced the introduction of Emergency Lighting Control Panelboards, the first centralized, self-contained solution for emergency egress lighting control. This factory assembled circuit breaker panelboard with onboard automatic load control relays (ALCR), allows facilities to streamline operations, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and use advanced lighting control technologies.

“Commercial facility managers balance issues from operational processes and code compliance to cost reduction and sustainability efforts, and lighting plays a key role in all of these areas,” said Scott Walters, vice president, LifeSpace, Schneider Electric. “The combination of circuit breaker and automatic load control relays in Schneider Electric’s new Emergency Lighting Control Panelboards centralizes control in the equipment closet, allowing facilities to use standard lighting fixtures and lighting controls for emergency egress lighting, providing improved sustainability and cost savings.”

Design, installation, inspection, and ongoing testing requirements for emergency lighting are streamlined with Schneider Electric’s new Emergency Lighting Control Panelboard. Automatic load control relays once scattered throughout a facility are now centralized in this self-contained panelboard. With a space saving design, the panelboard requires less wiring and wall space. An easy-to-use, on-board test button for each circuit allows testing of the entire system at the panelboard. These test buttons combined with a patented “switch test” provide easy diagnostics and decrease maintenance time.

With Emergency Lighting Control Panelboards, confidence in safe egress lighting is assured. When normal power is lost, all control devices are bypassed automatically to the emergency lighting power source. Controls on the circuit automatically return to normal as normal power is restored. Shared standard and emergency egress lighting fixtures allow facility managers to reduce energy waste and costs as well as streamline operations.

The Emergency Lighting Control Panelboard is available in NQ or NF panelboard configurations.  A stand alone Emergency Lighting Control Panel with automatic load control relays is also available.
