Carlisle SynTec Systems achieves Extreme Factory Mutual Rating for FleeceBACK and SPF Roofing System

(Carlisle, PA) – Carlisle SynTec Systems, a leading manufacturer of single-ply roofing materials, is pleased to announce that its Sure-Seal® and Sure-White™ FleeceBACK and SPF-245 spray polyurethane foam insulation roof system recently passed an FM 1-390 rating over a standard steel deck.  This new 1-390 rating was achieved without a single fastener, and exceeded Carlisle’s highest previous rating by 44%.

Now FM insured clients with steel decks can have a high-performance, FM-compliant non-penetrating roof system option.  It is also anticipated that high wind areas like coastal communities, tall buildings and lake front properties can benefit from a system with industry leading wind uplift resistance. Testing was also completed over concrete deck with results topping out at an impressive FM 1-990.

In addition to its high wind uplift rating, the roofing system combines the UV, puncture, tear and hail damage resistance of EPDM FleeceBACK with the high compressive strength and monolithic, redundant waterproofing characteristics of SPF-245 insulation.

"Carlisle is very proud that its FleeceBACK membranes established a new milestone in wind uplift performance to help protect high risk buildings, assets and people from the ravages of Mother Nature.  It’s this type of breakthrough innovation that makes Carlisle a leader in the commercial roofing market.
