Scott Sidman to Lead Building Engines Expansion
Boston, MA – Building Engines, provider of a comprehensive web-based and mobile management solution for commercial real estate operations, announces the promotion of Scott Sidman to Senior Vice President. In his new role, Sidman will oversee and drive the company's market expansion. He was previously Building Engines' Vice President of Sales and Marketing and ran the company's outreach efforts since early 2003.
"Scott is an industry veteran," said David Osborn, CEO of Building Engines, Inc. "He has long experience serving the industry both here at Building Engines and at a prior company. He's a respected authority on real estate technology and thought leader on operations management best practices." He participated on the 2011 Boston BOMA TOBY Awards Review Committee, and was in Washington earlier this year for the BOMA winter meetings, accompanying the local delegation to Capitol Hill to present BOMA's positions on taxes, energy efficiency and ADA compliance. Commenting on Sidman's promotion, Osborn quoted Lee Iacocca saying, "I hire people brighter than me and then I get out of their way."
Sidman will drive corporate development programs to build strategic client and partner relationships that ensure the company's product and services are meeting the needs of our enterprise clients and the broader commercial real estate marketplace. As part of the role, he will have oversight of corporate marketing and brand development. "Scott is perfectly suited for his new role as the face and voice of Building Engines," continued Osborn. "He's cultivated important relationships within our market segment and will strike a strong chord for Building Engines' client-centered ethos through our programs and services."
Earlier in his career, Sidman was a partner at Cedona Technologies leading the company's strategic efforts selling event management and media archival solutions to hospitality companies, consumer brands and large distribution firms. Before Cedona, he operated Access Solutions International; a foreign trade consulting company guiding US and Brazilian clients in business and real estate transactions as well as previously owning and operating a commercial real estate building services firm in the greater Boston area.
