IMP System Presents Ingenuity and Customization at Zoller HQ Building

Centria

Zoller, a German manufacturer of high-tech, high-precision equipment and software with worldwide distribution, achieved a new, corporate-branded façade with CENTRIA® Formawall® insulated metal panel system. Its ability to create sharp, distinct lines and a clean aesthetic were highly desired by the design team with David R. Gebhardt Architect P.C. to adequately symbolize the products made by the company.

"It was important that Zoller's sense of precision and craftsmanship was carried over into the façade via detail, crisp lines, and an overarching modern character," says David Gebhardt, President. "CENTRIA Formawall embodied these qualities, giving it the look and feel we desired."

Formawall 3" metal panels were specified in Regal White, Rich Black, and Platinum. The design also required the creation of linear panels with a Laser Yellow 6" custom reveal. The yellow hue was specific to the Zoller brand, and the overall façade conveyed modernity and the desired low, clean profile.

"The horizontal panel option we selected echoes the surrounding flat area on which the building is located; it gives the structure a low and sleek appearance," Gebhardt adds. "An added bonus, for us, was that the building's colors reflect Zoller's corporate color scheme, and CENTRIA was able to provide the special custom yellow accent band."

The Formawall High Performance Building Envelope System provides outstanding thermal and moisture performance and leads the industry in resiliency and sustainability. All Formawall products include a standard halogen-free foam core, enabling the architectural community to create a more sustainable building environment, while improving the product's fire performance. Formawall insulated metal panels are exclusively FM 4882-certified at the most stringent level, surpass the required protocols for the NFPA 285 complete wall assembly test, and are the subject of a health product declaration.

The product's five distinct profiles deliver unlimited design combinations and create the world's most imaginative building envelopes with varying articulations, rhythms, and textures.

The design team was also particularly appreciative of the fact that the Formawall system can be easily and seamlessly installed.

"The panels were applied quickly and easily," Gebhardt says. "We were very satisfied with the ongoing service of the design staff and subcontractor. All parties worked as a team, which helped with timing and collaboration."

The building was completed in October 2017. O'Neil Construction was the general contractor and C.L Rieckhoff, Inc. was the CENTRIA dealer and installer.
