Preparing Your Facility for Gun Violence

Gun violence has dominated the American news cycle recently, as stories of multiple shootings with multiple casualties seem like a nearly daily occurrence on our streets and inside the institutional and commercial facilities in the country.

With new legislation and policies taking effect in the U.S. it is important that facilities and maintenance personnel understand how the laws can impact buildings, inside and out. When it comes to open carry vs. concealed carry, where does your facility fall and what are the rights of your facility? How prepared are you for such an event?

The webcast "Gun Violence in the Workplace: What Facilities Professionals Need to Know," set for Tuesday, July 26, can help facilities managers prepare for such a tragic event. It will: review gun violence statistics and what they mean for commercial buildings; address changing gun legislation; understand facilities rights when it comes to open carry vs. concealed carry policies; discuss best practices for addressing workplace violence; and understand how to create detailed emergency training programs.
