Third Roof is a Charm for University of Northern Iowa
The third time appears to be a charm for the efforts by the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) to find a maintenance-friendly roof for its domed football stadium on campus.
A 2009 windstorm and hail event damaged a number of buildings on the Cedar Falls campus, including the home of the school’s successful football program, the UNI-Dome, which also serves as a multi-purpose sports and recreation facility.
The damage was significant enough to force a roof replacement, the third since the facility opened in 1976. Here is the article on the replacement project from our April 2012 issue.
