Vaccination Center Gets Supplied With Atlas Copco Power
This vaccination center was designed with a generous power requirement, like hospitals, to cover all eventualities. July 22, 2022
The construction of the Impfzentrum Münster vaccination center started 21 days after planning was completed. This facility needed a reliable power supply installed at short notice. This vaccination center was designed with a generous power requirement, like hospitals, to cover all eventualities. This was to ensure that a constant, uninterrupted power supply was guaranteed in the event of an emergency and that the scheduled workload of up to 2,400 vaccinations per day was achieved in any scenario.
To equip the vaccination center with the needed reliable and secure power supply, Atlas Copco delivered two QAS+ 450 kVa Stage V generators and a ZBP 45 energy storage system within a very short time from its German customer centre. The installation was smooth and on time, observing all social distancing and hygiene regulations.
With Atlas Copco QAS+ 450 kVa Stage V generators, the Impfzentrum Münster vaccination center has reliable power while improving performance and reducing emissions. These generators have been designed for enhanced fuel economy of increasingly demanding applications. With low-maintenance requirements and long-running time they can also be used for long-term operations. The QAS+ range provides fast ‘plug and play’ power, and it has been designed to be especially silent in operation, with noise levels as low as 85 dBA. The vaccination center has also benefited from the compact size of the QAS+ models, with a 20 percent smaller footprint than alternative generators in its class. As such, they are easy to transport and position on-site. They have exceptional portability with a sturdy frame, so they were placed outside the vaccination centre to optimise all indoor space.
The installation for the Impfzentrum Münster vaccination center also included a ZenergiZe ZBP 45 to be used as backup power. In the event of a power failure, the lithium-ion energy storage systems from Atlas Copco will ensure an uninterrupted shift to the power generators thanks to the USV buffering. These versatile energy storage systems meet operating and safety restrictions in noise-sensitive environments. Designed with sustainability in mind, the energy storage systems enable users to minimize the environmental impact of their operation by significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
In addition to this installation, Tovar Mobile Energie GmbH & Co. KG also provides a maintenance service and a 24-hour emergency service to the Impfzentrum Münster vaccination center in case of any eventuality.
“We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the establishment of the vaccination center in Münster, the process from start to finish was very smooth despite the challenging time we are living in,” says Lars Tovar, managing director at Tovar Group. “We would recommend this solution at any time. The products perform stably and reliably even under maximum power loads. They are versatile and can be flexibly combined in a circuit, synchronised to the fixed circuit or used independently as a twin pack.”
