Portable Power Units Recalled Due to Fire and Explosion Hazards
The lithium-ion battery in the units can overheat. There have been two reports of fires so far. November 9, 2022

Power Plus is recalling its Tora Portable Power Charging Stations due to a hazard for explosion or fire. The lithium-ion battery inside the charging stations can overheat and catch on fire while charging, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall notice.
The portable power charging unit being recalled is model number SGR-PPS500-2. The portable power charging unit is most commonly used as a backup power supply for motorized rolling storm shutters. The unit is about 12 inches wide by 7 inches long and has a carrying handle on the top. The model number is printed on the side of the portable charging stations and the serial numbers 1350 through 1549 is printed on a label on the underside of the charging station.
There have been two reports of fires, but no injuries have been reported.
Facility managers should contact Power Plus at its recall webpage immediately for information on a refund.
