Portable Generator Recalled Due to Shock Hazard

Kohler Power Systems portable generators have been recalled due to a wiring error, which can result in electrical shock if a device is plugged into the generator. No accidents or injuries have been reported to date, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall number 16-239.

The recall includes the PRO3.7, PRO3.7E, PRO5.2, PRO5.2E, and GEN5.0 with Spec Number PA-GEN50-3003.  Affected generators list serial number 4528733735 or lower, and a manufacture date prior to 06 2016.

About 7,000 affected units were sold between June 2014 and May 2016 in the United States, with an additional 230 units sold in Canada. Facility managers affected by this recall are directed to stop using the generator and contact the company to schedule a free repair.
