NEMA Publishes Premium Motor Specification

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published NEMA Premium 2014 General Specification for Consultants, Industrial and Municipal: NEMA Premium Efficiency Electric Motors. The intent of this specification is to outline the minimum requirements for three-phase AC induction motors applied to municipal and industrial applications for operation on voltages 5,000 volts or less, rated 2,500 horsepower or less, and operating more than 2,000 hours per year at more than 75 percent of full load.
