While not the most glamourous area of a facility, restrooms are vital to the occupant’s experience. If a restroom is in poor condition, it will put a damper on an occupant’s impressions of the overall facility. However, keeping restrooms stocked with supplies and clean can be a hassle for facilities staff.

Fortunately, smart technology allows for more consistent and efficient restroom operations by streamlining tasks facilities staff have to do. Dispensers for paper towels and soap can be integrated into a wireless network, enabling them to send alerts about supply levels to the facilities staff. This saves staff time from having to manually check every dispenser throughout a facility. In addition, smart technologies can aid in reducing the amount of water that gets wasted as well using leak detection systems.

In this video, both Phil Carrizales, director of the jan/san division at Acme Paper and Supply Company, and Kenny Trowers, senior associate at Syska Hennessy Group, discuss the benefits and efficiencies of smart technology use in restrooms.

Here is what viewers will learn from this video:

  • The benefits of smart dispensers
  • How leak detection systems reduce water wastage
  • Why COVID-19 and labor shortages accelerated adoption of smart technologies
