Moen is recalling its Flo Smart Water Monitor Lithium-Ion Battery Back-Ups due to an issue that can cause the battery pack to overheat, creating a fire hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall notice.

There have been three reports of backup batters overheating and catching fire. No injuries have been reported.

Facility managers who own these backup battery packs—an option add-on that could be purchased separately to extend certain features of Moen’s Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff in the event of a power disruption – should immediately unplug their backup battery and contact Moen for instructions on disposal and to claim a refund.
