Restroom Review: Survey Results Identify Problems

You always wash your hands after using the restroom, obviously. It’s all those other people who don’t, right? Well, somebody is causing problems in restrooms, according to a new survey from Bradley Corp. on the habits and opinions of restroom users.
The 2016 Healthy Hand Washing Survey found that consumers:
• believe a bad restroom translates into poor management and lowers their opinions of the company
• identify clogged toilets, bad smells, and a dirty, unkempt and old looking restroom appearance as their biggest restroom complaints
• often use various body parts to avoid touching germy items in restrooms.
Which facilities have made the most improvements in restroom improvements? According to the survey, medical centers, airports, restaurants and higher education facilities have made the biggest strides in recent years.
In addition, Americans are taking action to avoid getting sick, according to the survey. The survey found that 71 percent of adults always make it a point to wash their hands after handling a sick child. Hand washing with soap is smart, since close contact with a sick individual is a risk factor for contracting an illness.
