WaterSense, a partnership program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), can help maintenance and engineering managers make sound water-use decisions in institutional and commercial facilities. The program’s website, www.epa.gov/watersense, provides a resource for managers specifying water-efficient products and researching water-saving strategies.

Examples of the site’s resources include:

Product search function. Managers can specify WaterSense products, which are independently tested by a third party and meet the EPA’s specifications for efficiency and performance. Managers can submit information such as product category, brand and model name and number to find products that best match specification needs. Learn more at www.epa.gov/watersense/product_search.htmll

Searchable database of water rebates. Managers can find rebate opportunities by submitting information such as home state, targeted products and utility partner to find rebates available across the country. It is important for managers to remember that WaterSense does not provide rebates and only serves as a resource to find available rebates. Learn more at https://www.epa.gov/watersense/rebate-finder

Resource for landscape watering. WaterSense offers suggestions to managers on water-saving strategies for irrigation equipment, such as controllers, sensors, shutoff devices, and sprinkler heads. Read more at www.epa.gov/watersense/outdoors
