ASHRAE Offers First Exam for Operations Certification

Facilities professionals interested in taking the Operations & Performance Management Professional (OPMP) certification examination can do so at the AHR Expo on Jan. 28, 2009, in Chicago. The first-ever exam is in conjunction with the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering (ASHRAE).

Candidates who earn the OPMP certification will have demonstrated a well-rounded understanding and knowledge of the management of facility operations and maintenance and their impact on HVAC&R system performance. ASHRAE developed the certification program in close collaboration with APPA and the U.S. General Services Administration.

The OPMP examination is $275 for ASHRAE members and $395 for non-members. Applications for the examination received before Jan. 9 will cost $137.50 for members and $197.50 for non-members.
