What is the state of facility maintenance, exactly?
The question obviously is impossible to answer. Institutional and commercial facilities range in age from a few weeks to a century or more. Also, every organization funds maintenance differently depending on a dizzying array of factors. Beyond all that, no two managers face the same staffing and technology challenges in deploying a workforce to carry out maintenance.
With all these issues in mind, as we’ve done every March for 20 years, we’ll try again next month to understand the state of maintenance.
The NFMT Facilities Management Conference and Expo taking place March 17-19 in Baltimore offers attendees access to nearly 200 facility management professionals in more than 100 sessions spread over eight tracks, all with the goal of helping managers understand where the profession stands, where it is likely headed, and how they can use the event to help their facilities.

NFMT Baltimore provides much more than information, though. Attendees also can network with peers from around the country while they tap into the expertise of manufacturers and service providers.
