U.S. Schools' Capital Funds Cut 20 Percent Since '08: Report

Capital expenditures for schools nationwide declined 20 percent between 2008 and 2017 — the equivalent of a $16 billion cut according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Schools in Connecticut lost 52 percent of capital funding between 2008 and 2017, Delaware lost 53 percent, Nevada lost 61 percent, and Florida and Arizona lost 67 and 68 percent respectively.
