Personnel who work at U.S. federal buildings now can include their ASHRAE certification and an ASHRAE course in their professional development plan. The Facility Management Institute of the U.S. General Services Administration has reviewed ASHRAE certifications for Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP), Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), and Operations & Performance Management Professional (OPMP), as well as the its Learning Institute’s Fundamentals of Building Operation, Maintenance and Management course and now considers them aligned with the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act.
