Small Stratton pendant light fixture with clear shade

Pendant Lighting Recalled Due to Injury Hazard

  June 13, 2019

By Naomi Millán

After a bystander was injured by a falling glass pendant shade which detached from its fixture without warning, Generation Brands has recalled 1,200 Tech Lighting Small Stratton glass pendant light fixtures.

The pendant fixtures, for use as general illumination and task lighting in residential and commercial applications, were sold between January 2013 and December 2018. The fixtures are 9.2-inches wide, and were sold with a clear or smoke-color shade. Reference US Consumer Product Safety Commission recall 19-131 for a full list of affected UPC numbers.

Facility managers with these fixtures installed in their facility should keep people from walking underneath the fixtures, and contact Tech Lighting for a free repair kit, which will need to be installed by a certified electrician. Tech Lighting will reimburse the cost of the installation, according to the recall notice. Tech Lighting can be reached at 888-475-1136 or at www.techlighting.com.

The Large Stratton Pendant, which is 22.4-inches wide, is not included in this recall.
