NEMA Revises Standards for Fluorescent Lamps

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association announced revised standards for the physical and electrical characteristics of fluorescent lamps intended for applications on conventional line frequency circuits and electronic high-frequency circuits. The revised ANSI C78.81-2016 American National Standard for Electric Lamps—Double-Capped Fluorescent Lamps—Dimensional and Electrical Characteristics, offers specifications for the lamp and the interactive features of lamps and ballasts.
