Job Summary:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operations of the First United Methodist Church of Winter Park. This role involves managing a team of facilities staff, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring that all facilities are compliant with local regulations and company policies. The Facilities Manager will also be responsible for budgeting, planning, and implementing facility-related projects. This role is a balance of both leadership and hands on facilities tasks. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

o Lead and manage the two facilities team members, including hiring, training, and evaluations.

o Develop and implement facilities management policies and procedures.

o Ensure effective communication and coordination between the facilities team and other departments.

Maintenance and Operations:

o Oversee the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems.

o Manage service requests in ‘Maintain X’ ticketing system.

o Ensure that all facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

o Manage the scheduling of routine maintenance and inspections.

o Hands on facilities and maintenance tasks.

Budgeting and Planning:

o Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses.

o Plan and oversee facility-related projects, including renovations and new construction.

o Ensure cost-effective procurement of supplies and services.

o Expense reporting and process credit card reimbursement.

Compliance and Safety:

o Ensure compliance with OSHA, chemical handling and all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities management.

o Implement and oversee safety programs and emergency response plans.

o Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, including fire alarms, elevators.

o Storm and disaster recovery preparedness.

Vendor Management:

o Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and service providers.

o Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements



Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management.

· Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, and Word.

· HVAC, electrical, plumbing or other trade certification/experience, a plus.

· Valid Florida Driver’s license, ability and willingness to self-transport between two building sites.

Working Conditions:

· Management of two site locations in operation 6 to 7 days per week.

· This position will require occasional evening, weekend and holiday work.

· Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.

· Frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, potentially toxic chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.

· Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds required.

· Exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require application of safety precautions.
