As hybrid work continues to be the norm rather than the exception, co-working spaces are becoming attractive because of the flexibility they offer for workers. Co-working facilities are springing up all over the country in various sizes, shapes, and with a variety of perks and benefits. Many workers subscribe to co-working spaces for the chance to get out of the house for a few hours per day without having to commit to a full day at the office.
Because of the wide range of available co-working spaces, workers are looking for space that is comfortable, healthy, and can help enhance their productivity. Health and wellness strategies for facilities are more frequently being seen as a way owners of these spaces can give their spaces a competitive advantage. Strategies like offering standing or treadmill desks, lots of natural light, plants throughout the space, and healthy food and drink offerings are all strategies aimed at attracting workers for whom health and wellness is a priority.
The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) recently announced a partnership with The Instant Group, the world’s largest provider of co-working spaces. The partnership will help spur health and well-being practices in co-working and flexible spaces, according to IWBI. The partnership will encompass a range of joint efforts aimed at elevating health, including opportunities to advance innovative solutions to better support people-first spaces for all users of coworking and flexible workspaces.
