A line of cabinet heaters from manufacturer Caframo primarily used to heat parking ticket dispensers and other similar types of outdoor cabinets are being recalled due to a defect that can lead to an electrocution hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall notice.

The defect on the unit involves the crimp holding a wire in place in the cabinet heater. The crimp is not properly finished and can result in the wire detaching, posing an electrocution hazard.

Facility managers who own these units should stop using them immediately, unplug them, and contact the manufacturer for a repair kit or instructions on how to get a replacement unit.

So far no injuries have been reported due to the defective heating cabinets.
