The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding recognizing their shared interests in advancing the harmonization of ARI and Mexican HVACR standards and international and regional standards in general. ARI has signed similar agreements with China and Korea.
“Ultimately, more harmonized standards will improve the efficiency of HVACR equipment and facilitate the free flow of international trade,” says Deborah Hawkins, chairman of ARI. “In signing this agreement, ARI and ANCE will make all efforts to work closely together to make sure HVACR standards are developed that benefit the global HVACR industry.”
Objectives in the plan include:
-Advancing the harmonization of ARI and Mexican HVACR standards and international and regional standards in general.
-Promoting the knowledge of the standards development activities of each organization and the interpretation of standards.
-Supporting mutual promotion of relevant standards and certification programs where appropriate.
-Encouraging communication and information exchange between the two organizations.
-Avoiding duplication of work efforts where possible.
