University of Kansas Hospital Plans Expansion

The University of Kansas Hospital. in Kansas City, Kan., will expand its now under-construction $270 million project as soon as it opens in 2017.
The 92-bed patient tower was planned to accommodate the addition of four more floors in the future, but the hospital decided to continue construction to build those floors immediately to answer growing patient volume.
The additional construction is expected to be completed in 2018, housing 32 beds on one floor and three floors of shell space, and bringing the total project cost to $320 million.
