Texas Children’s Hospital Works Fun Into Its Tower Design

The Cook Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) in Fort Worth, Texas was designed to show function can be fun, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

Its South Tower renovation and addition project includes an outdoor space boasts colorful and interactive features that appeal to the senses of children. 

Inside, the expanded emergency department on the first floor includes 48 new emergency exam and treatment rooms. The first floor also offers a grab-n-go quick foodservice area.

The project also includes a new inpatient unit and outpatient pre-hospitalization program for pediatric behavioral health.
