Sonora Healthcare Facility Expanding ED

  September 28, 2015

Sonora Regional Medical Center in Sonora, Calif., plans to expand its emergency department expansion in November. The project will allow for a 50 percent increase in patient capacity.

The design will be modeled after the ED at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. Using a rapid medical intervention approach model allow physicians to quickly assess low-acuity patients to treat and release them quickly, reducing the number of patients in beds.

The $2.4 million project will be built in three phases, with completion expected in 2016.
