National Guard Raises Tents Outside South Carolina Hospital
August 20, 2020
The South Carolina National Guard has raised tents near Orangeburg County hospital in case of a pandemic patient surge, according to WRDW.
Regional Medical Center officials requested the tents as a proactive step to help with hospital resources. Additional beds are currently not needed.
As of mid July, 84 percent of Orangeburg County’s hospital beds were occupied.
South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control will inspect the tents after utilities and medical equipment are installed.
