Mike Wood elected next president of IFMA Health Care Institute

The Health Care Institute (HCI), an IFMA Alliance Partner, has elected Mike Wood, director of healthcare market development for Oldcastle, to serve as its next president. Effective September 2015, Wood will replace Leo Gehring, who will continue to serve the institute as immediate past president.

Wood is currently vice president of HCI. He has been an active member of the organization, including as a speaker at events such as the recent New England Hospital and Medical Facilities Summit.

For Oldcastle, Wood is responsible for building and managing the company’s Healthcare Integrated Delivery business, working with internal business units and various markets to serve planning, design and construction professionals as well as owners. He assists these clients by providing design information and custom manufactured products and supply chain functions associated with large-scale healthcare capital efforts. Among other activities, Wood formerly served as Facilities Director for Kaiser Permanente. 

Wood holds certifications and licenses in healthcare project management, facilities management, healthcare construction, radiologic technology, emergency medicine and real estate brokerage. He is a past regional vice president of IFMA, past president of two IFMA Chapters and past board member of the Colorado Association of Healthcare Engineers and Directors. He has worked for several world-class organizations and owned several businesses associated with the advanced use of technology, healthcare, organization development and program management.
