A total of 73 percent of healthcare execs surveyed said the Internet of Things could shake up the healthcare industry in the next three years, according to an article on the Healthcare IT News website.

The Accenture survey also found that only 49 percent think their organization’s leaders understand what it could mean.

According to the report, IoT's value in healthcare will surpass $163 billion by 2020, with a compound annual growth rate of 38.1 percent between 2015 and 2020.

By not realizing the potential of the IoT in healthcare, healthcare executives are risking losing its potential benefits, the article said.
