Holy Cross Health recently celebrated the opening of the Holy Cross Hospital’s South Building on the newly named Kevin J. Sexton campus of Holy Cross Health.
This expansion of Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md. marks the completion of a seven-year plan.
The new seven-story patient care building expansion represents the hospital’s largest expansion project in more than 50 years. The new 232,000-square-foot building houses 150 private patient rooms in critical care, intermediate care and medical-surgical units. The new building ensures that all patient rooms throughout Holy Cross Hospital will be private.
As part of the expansion, an additional 42,000 square feet of the main hospital building’s critical care and surgery areas have been expanded and renovated, and 300 new parking spaces were created.
