Cell Phone Germs a Concern at Healthcare Facilities

A recent study found traces of the flu, respiratory infections, and the norovirus on 38.5% of 114 healthcare workers' phones that were tested, according to an article on the ABC-7 website.

At Bonita Community Health Center in Bonita Springs, Fla., cell phones are banned beyond certain points for employees.

Cross-contamination is an invisible, chronic threat at healthcare facilities and cell phones add to the risk, especially in certain surgical rooms.
