Baptist Health South Florida installing enterprise-wide health IT system

Baptist Health South Florida is installing an enterprise-wide health IT System across all of the its hospitals, physician offices and outpatient locations.

The Cerner electronic health record system and comprehensive population health management platform will enhance the organization's existing revenue cycle management solutions, providing Baptist Health with an integrated, enterprise-wide health information technology system, according to a news release.

"With the responsibility for more than 1 million patient visits each year and nearly 17,000 employees, it is essential that we have industry-leading health IT solutions to manage care," said Ralph Lawson, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Baptist Health South Florida.

The system's interoperability capabilities also enable the system to share health records with outside health organizations regionally and nationally.
