Internet of Things Growing in Healthcare Facilities

The Internet of Things (IoT) is growing in healthcare facilities as data become easier to share, according to a post on the Healthcare Facilities Today website.

The Internet of Things gives everything from medical devices to building systems the ability to store and share information, an article on the Health Facilities Management website said.

Hospitals have utilized the IoT for multiple functions including asset management and controlling temperature and humidity in operating rooms.

One example is the $50 million the Mercy Virtual Care Center, Chesterfield, Mo. delivers around-the-clock care through audio, video and data connections by clinical and support staff to remotely monitor patients in four states.
