Christiana Care Health System has plans to embark on a $260 million enhancement project at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, Del., including a new Women and Children’s building developed in collaboration with patients and their families.
The proposed eight-story facility will have a new neonatal intensive care unit; new and expanded labor and delivery suites; private rooms for families after delivery; an expanded triage area; a new labor lounge; and a continuing care nursery for babies with health problems.
The project has been presented to Delaware Health Resources Board as part of the state’s certificate of public review process. Ground-breaking is scheduled for April 2017, with completion expected in 2020.
