San Jose State University Student Wellness Center Plans Fall Opening
October 13, 2015
San Jose State University in San Jose, Calif., plans to open its new Student Wellness Center (SWC) this fall. The three-story, 53,000-square-foot facility will deliver basic outpatient and primary care services.
The interior, based on the concept of a pod planning model, provides private spaces for physicians and counselors and an open plan concept for support and administrative services. There’s space for massage, acupuncture, dentistry, and optometry programs and preventative care. A juice bar and demonstration kitchen will be available for programmed events as well as daily use.
The SWC’s exterior blends with the campus architecture, and building was designed and built as a LEED Gold-equivalent project.
