Recall: Utility Vehicle Poses Crash Hazard

  May 23, 2017

By Naomi Millán

John Deere Gator Utility Vehicles have been recalled because the dust boot on the throttle cable can come loose, causing the vehicle to not slow down or stop, posing a crash hazard.

The company has received two reports of dust boots coming loose, though no injuries have been reported, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall number 17-739.

About 8,500 vehicles in the models XUV590i or XUV590i S4 are affected. They were sold between January 2016 and March 2017.

Facility managers affected by this recall should contact a John Deere dealer for a free repair. Deere & Company can be reached at 800- 537-8233 or www.deere.com.
