RECALL: Mowers and Compact Tractors Pose Burn Hazards

  November 28, 2018

By Naomi Millán

Kubota Corp. has recalled 121,100 zero-turn mowers, compact tractors, and ride-on mowers because hot coolant can spray out suddenly and burn the rider. The company has received three reports of burns from hot coolant, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall 19-713. An overheating and pressurized coolant tank is causing the failure.

The recall involves models BX, GR, ZD and ZG, diesel and gasoline-powered Kubota zero-turn mowers, compact tractors, and ride-on mowers, affecting model years 2014 to 2018.

Facility managers affected by the recall are directed to have equipment operators stop using the recalled equipment and contact the company for a free replacement cap for the coolant reservoir tank.
