Mowers Recalled Due to Injury Hazard
September 9, 2019
Users can become entangled in John Deere Frontier grooming mowers, leading to a recall of over 730 units, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice 19-778.
No incidents or injuries have yet been reported to the company, but an entanglement hazard is known to exist because incorrect assembly of the mower’s drivelines can prevent the safety shield from spinning independently, according to the company.
The affected mowers were sold between April 2018 through May 2019. The recalled Frontier models are FM3012, GM1060, GM1072, GM1084, GM1190, GM3060, and GM3072. A complete list of recalled serial numbers can be found here.
Facility managers with the recalled mowers in their fleet are directed to take the units out of use immediately and contact a John Deere dealer for a free repair. Deere & Company can be reached at 800-537-8233 or at the company’s website.
