The impeller and auger assembly on several lines of Ariens snow throwers can continue to rotate after the control lever has been shut off, causing a laceration hazard for users who come in contact with the rotating parts. For that reason, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall notice, the manufacturer is recalling the Deluxe, Platinum, and Professional lines of Sno-Thro snow throwers.

The recalled snow throwers were sold at a variety of retailers from August 2024 through October 2024. Facility managers who purchased the snow throwers should immediately stop using them and contact Ariens Company or one of its dealers for a free repair.

There have been no injuries yet reported as a result of the defect.
