Two impact injuries and one hospitalization have been reported because of a failed front bell crank in the brake lineage of a line of now-recalled John Deere compact utility tractors.
On September 26, a recall was issued for the line of John Deere compact utility tractors, including model numbers 1023E, 1025R, and 2025R.
Due to the failure in the brake lineage, the tractors pose a crash hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission's recall notice.
The compact utility tractors were sold at authorized John Deere dealers between November 2017 and July 2024. The recall affects about 150,000 purchased products. Facility managers who purchased one of the recalled models should stop using the tractors and contact their John Deere dealer to schedule an appointment to bring the tractor in for a free repair. John Deere is also working on contacting purchasers directly to make arrangements for repairs.
Four incidents of the brake lineage failure have been reported.
