Utility Vehicles Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

  March 6, 2020

By Naomi Millán

E-Z-GO, Cushman, and Tracker brand off-road vehicles have been recalled due to a fire hazard caused by loose wiring. The starter generator wire can come into contact with the vehicle’s exhaust, posing a fire hazard. Textron Specialized Vehicles, which manufactures the vehicles, has received 13 incident reports involving melted or burned wires and electrical components, sometimes resulting in loss of vehicle function, and one vehicle fire, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall 20-073.

Recalled vehicles include gas-powered E-Z-GO, Cushman, and Tracker brand off-road vehicles in golf, PTV, utility, and shuttle configurations. The 20,573 recalled vehicles were manufactured between November 2018 through June 2019, and sold through October 2019.

Facility managers with the recalled vehicles in their fleet should remove them from use and contact Textron Specialized Vehicles for a free repair. Textron Specialized Vehicles can be reached at 888-525-6040 or jcook03@textron.com.
