RECALL: Utility Vehicle Seat Belt Can Fail During Crash

  December 15, 2017

By Naomi Millán

Kubota RTV-X series utility vehicles have been recalled by the manufacturer because the seat belt stays can break, posing a hazard in the event of a crash.
The company has received three reports of seat belt stays breaking, but no injuries have been reported, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall number 18-704.

Affected RTV-X series vehicles have model numbers ending in 900, 1100, 1120D, and 1140. Recalled vehicles were manufactured between December 2015 and June 2017, except recalled RTV-X1140 vehicles, which were manufactured as early as June 2015.

Facility managers affected by this recall are directed to stop using the vehicles immediately and arrange for a free repair through a Kubota dealer. More information is available from the Kubota at 800-752-0290 or www.kubota.com, under the "Services and Support" menu option.
