USGBC, Dodge: Green Building Continues To Grow Rapidly

According to the Dodge Data & Analytics World Green Building Trends 2016 SmartMarket Report, to which the U.S. Green Building Council is a contributing partner, the global green building market “continues to double every three years."

Also, according to the report, the world’s green building market is now a trillion-dollar industry, and the green buildings material market is expected to surge to $234 billion by 2019.

The most important driver for building green, according to the report, is economic forces. Green buildings offer “significant operational cost savings” compared to convention buildings.

According to USGBC, there are 75,000 commercial projects participating in LEED around the world, and 1.85 million square feet of space is certified every day.
