A veteran Chicago area golf course groundskeeper killed at Northbrook's shuttered Green Acres Country Club, mowing the lawn there for the first time.

Rick "Bood" Bowden, 62, of Deerfield, had decades of experience and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office established the cause of death as accidental, by traumatic asphyxia – suffocation due to crushing.

The 125-acre Northbrook course is known for its rolling contours and Bowden was described as a perfectionist in his chosen field.
