Greenbuild 2009 Arrives in Phoenix Nov. 11
With a robust lineup of keynote speakers, including former Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, educational sessions and programming, all set against the beautiful Arizona backdrop, this year's Greenbuild International Conference & Expo is poised to be one of the best to date. More than 25,000 representatives of the building industry will connect for three days of educational sessions, speakers, seminar, networking events and tours of local green building sites throughout Arizona.
The annual show, in its eighth year, will be held November 11-13, 2009, at the Phoenix Convention Center and will explore the theme Main Street Green: Connect to the Conversation. Greenbuild is the world's largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. This year's show will kick off on the evening of November 11 with the first ever Opening Keynote & Celebration at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The evening celebration will feature a keynote address by noted environmental advocate Gore. Gore's keynote will be followed by a musical performance by nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow and an address from USGBC President, CEO & Founding Chair, Rick Fedrizzi.
The conference includes a remarkable list of speakers, more than 100 educational sessions, and special events like the Greenbuild Residential Summit and the World Green Building Council International Congress. This year's show also will feature more than 1,800 exhibit booths from more than 1,000 exhibitors on the world's largest expo hall devoted to green building.
In today's economic landscape, the green building industry has the potential to be a significant driver for economic recovery, and Greenbuild is an opportunity for professionals and businesses alike to become actively engaged and stake their claim in this new green economy. The conference connects facility executives to the conversations they need to drive their own green economic recovery, from forums for networking with potential new customers, clients, employers and partners, to the first Greenbuild job fair. Top-notch education will be offered to help facility executives grow as green building professionals, build the knowledge needed to earn LEED professional credentials, and earn credit toward LEED credentialing maintenance.
Greenbuild is the three-time recipient of IMEX Green Meetings Award. Previous Greenbuild keynote speakers have included former President Bill Clinton in 2007 and Archbishop Desmond Tutu in 2008. View last year's Greenbuild show and watch a video recap.
