Why is considering an EPD an increasingly critical piece of interiors product selection?

Consumers, specifiers, designers, architects, etc. need to become aware of the items they specify or purchase. In today’s market, there is an increasing demand for science-based, verifiable, and documented information about the environmental performance of goods and services. However, the need to understand what goes into the manufacturing process, the extraction of materials and end of life is not completely new to this industry.

EPDs are gaining momentum within the interiors industry and they are already entrenched in the international market. Now, it’s my understanding that EPDs may be adopted by the U.S. federal government.
