One of the most powerful and honest sessions from NFMT Remix, Women in Facilities Management brings together a panel of women with widely-varied career paths to talk about their experience coming up in the industry, their strategies for success, and the ways they bring their whole selves to bear on the profession.
It's a highly collaborative session — addressing fears and frustrations, as well as sharing wins and championing the increased presence and leadership of women in facilities management.
Some of the topics discussed included the changing facility management profession, the choked supply chain, the lack of available workers, background checks, diversity and advocating for female leadership.
Panelists include:
• Machion Jackson, Assistant Superintendent of Operations for Detroit Public Schools Community District
• Jessica Bickel, Facilities Coordinator for Reece Group USA
• Christine Burkett, Senior Facility Manager for Sam's Facilities Support
• Jennifer Schmidt, Director of Product Engineering for Cummins, Inc.
