Facility managers know they always must be ready for any curveballs that come their way.  

Four years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic forced managers to confront a situation that nobody ever anticipated and hope never happens again. In the aftermath of the pandemic, managers are still dealing with its lingering effects, whether it’s the changing how (and where) employees choose to do their jobs, or even if they choose to work in facilities at all. 

With those issues still top of mind, managers are also learning more about technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and adjusting to newer concepts such as decarbonization and achieving net-zero emissions. 

We gathered eight facility leaders to get their thoughts on how the profession is evolving.
