Two sprinkler heads in the United States market bear counterfeit UL Certification Marks and were not manufactured by the companies indicated on the sprinkler assemblies.

The first counterfeit sprinkler is Model 15SSSP and is marked with “ANGUS” and “2016” on the wrench boss, and a counterfeit UL Certification Mark for the United States. The deflector is marked with “15SSP” and “68°C / 155°F.”

The second counterfeit sprinkler is Model GL5601 and is marked “GLOBE” on the wrench boss, but was not manufactured by Globe Fire Sprinkler. It also bears a counterfeit UL Certification Mark for the United States and Canada on the wrench boss.

The thermo bulb is marked “JOB G5,” but was not manufactured or labeled by Job GmbH, and is also marked with “D77447.” The counterfeit fire sprinklers may be provided with an orange guard. The following is marked on the deflector: “GL5601” and “155°F 168°C.”

In both cases, UL recommends that these products be immediately removed from service and be replaced by UL Certified Fire Sprinklers.
